Title: Part-time Paid CCJDC Program Intern

Hours: 15 hrs/week, flexible schedule

Pay: $15-$20/hr, dependent on experience 

Location: Cuyahoga County Juvenile Detention Center (CCJDC), 9300 Quincy Ave # 4100, Cleveland, OH 44106(Hybrid)

Travel: Limited in-city travel

About the Juvenile Justice Coalition

JJC is a state-wide advocacy organization that works with Ohio youth who are at-risk of involvement or involved in the juvenile justice system. The Juvenile Justice Coalition strives to provide a youth-centered organizational vehicle for people affected by the juvenile justice system and their communities through policy advocacy, community organizing and education, and nurturing leadership.   • Able to lead and work both independently and in a team setting

  • Computer and smartphone literacy

  • Possesses reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license


Job Roles: 

  • Recruit and supervise volunteers for the CCJDC book club program

  • Connect and communicate regularly with local organizations, schools, community members, facility staff, etc.

  • Assist in lesson planning for the program 

  • Communicate and coordinate schedules with the CCJDC

  • Attend JJC team meetings regularly 


Job Requirements: 

  • Communicates in a timely and strategic manner

  • Organize information in a clear and consistent way

  • Ability to gather and curate information from disparate sources

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong communication and emailing/call skills

  • Project management skills or experience is a plus
